Romantic Lake District Cottages for Valentine’s Day
Celebrating Valentine’s Day is an ancient tradition, first associated with St Valentine in Rome and popularised in the middle ages where the day became associated with an ideal of courtly love and the exchange of tokens of affection. You can continue the tradition on 14th February with a romantic break to one of the most romantic spots in the country; inspiration for poets such as Wordsworth who was from the Lakes and made his home in Grasmere.
We have some gorgeous, luxury self catering cottages for two which are cosy, most with real fires to hunker down whatever the weather. Should the sun shine, and it often does despite the media coverage to the contrary, there are beautiful walks and breath-taking scenery all round. We can also offer lovely traditional pubs and gourmet restaurants and many interesting visitor attractions in the area. Or book up a spa day to just relax. There is information in each of our cottages or just ask us for recommendations.
Should you wish to order packs of logs and kindling to be waiting for you in the cottage we can arrange this, just let us know at the time of booking. There is last minute availability for a long weekend or a full week whichever you choose and discounts to be had so that you can afford to treat yourself and significant other to a memorable break.
