Winter Warmer - Cinnamon Rolls & Cheese Soup

Sunday can’t really be described as the day of rest in our house. Usually we fill it with visiting friends & family, shopping or getting out for a walk. Yesterday was a real foodie day. As the weather has got colder and the days get shorter the type of food we enjoy changes, gone are summer salads and light bites to be replaced by more substantial meals and flavours that warm us from the inside to out.

Lunch for us was Cheese Soup with Crispy bacon from ‘The New Covent Garden Soup Co‘ ‘Book of Soups‘ which is a rich & thick soup perfect for dunking bread (yes we’re pro dunking). I used oak smoked streaky bacon bought at Langdale Coop for a real flavour kick.

After our soup we indulged ourselves with home-made Cinnamon Rolls covered in thick icing. Heather found this recipe online so follow the link if you fancy making them! Cinnamon buns.

There’s nothing like a day of good food & good company to stoke the warm glow of happiness as you sink onto the sofa in the evening knowing you may require a crane to help you off it again.
