Birch Tree Cottage is a little gem! Up a private driveway, hidden on the fellside with wonderful views over the Langdale Valley and across to Lingmoor Fell. Perfectly formed, the end of a small row of cottages. Birch Tree Cottage (13 Firgarth) has everything you could need for a comfortable stay.

The Cottage is a small stroll from Chapel Stile village centre, conveniently close to the local Co-op shop, Brambles Cafe, Wainwrights Inn and also the bus stop if you plan to leave the car behind. There are numerous walks from there door in all directions, for the less energetic, the Langdale Hotel & Spa is a short distance away, their facilities include a swimming pool and gym, cafe, restaurant and numerous spa treatments.

French doors from the lounge open up onto a large communal grassed area. A bench seat perfectly placed for taking in the stunning view and watching the many birds and abundant wildlife that visit the area.

Sleeping up to four people in a double bedroom and a twin bedded room (please note 2ft 6" beds), most suited for a small family or couple with occassional guest. The kitchen has most appliances including dishwasher and washer/dryer. The bathroom has small bath with hand held shower and an electric shower over the other end of the bath, sink and w.c. Parking is close by in a private carpark for the Firgarth properties only. Please note, the driveway to the property is quite steep, perfectly easy in the car, but not so good for the less able.

Reviews

Yet another delightful stay in this lovely, cosy cottage in the heart of the Langdales. The view is wonderful, the walking (mostly low level these days) has been enjoyable. The local coop has catered for all our needs. Such a relaxing break!

Beautiful & comfortable house with lovely views - only rained on one day. Low level walks the other days, one to Skelwith Bridge and one over Loughrigg fell, both from the house.

Birch Tree Cottage has everything that makes a weeks self-catering holiday comfortable. The location is marvelous with wonderful views of Lingmoor Fell & The Langdales. The weather could have been kinder but overall we had a very relaxing week. Hopefully we will return.

We'd just like to say thanks for a lovely holiday in Birch Tree Cottage. Really comfortable, cosy little cottage for myself, my partner Dave, my Mum and our dog Hector. Well equipped and perfectly placed to explore the Lakes. Our forth holiday to the Lake District and definitely the best yet!! Even the weather behaved for us :-)
