Blog > Working Lunch

No escape from the office today, work is piled up and Wendy is off ill. Heather & I had thought of having a morning out with Meri (4) who doesn’t start school full time until September, but this was not to be. We did however put time aside to take her for an indulgent lunch at Waterhead Coffee Shop in Ambleside. They do a great selection of sandwiches, soup and Paninis’, as well as a less than saintly line in cakes, scones and ice-cream. We were very well behaved resisting the call of the huge Blueberry Scones filled with jam and cream . Upon being served Meri managed to upend her soup bowl onto the table (she gets her grace and coordination from her dad). Thankfully Richard (shop owner) was very kind & brought us another bowl along with providing a clean up operation. They also sell food for the ducks which Meri enjoyed throwing of the boating piers.

Hard to resist, Richards Blueberry Scones

This afternoon Meri is spending a few hours at Langdale School giving Heather & I some more time to get work related things done. I can still taste the memory of bacon from my lunchtime sandwich though :-)
